New FCRA Rules 2026: Why NGOs Need Better Activity Tracking

The Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Rules, 2026, notified on 22 June 2026, change how foreign-funded NGOs declare purposes and areas of operation.

  • Select purposes from a prescribed Schedule of 105 purposes across 5 categories.
  • Specify States and UTs where the organisation intends to operate.
  • Existing FCRA-registered organisations have a one-year transition to file via Form FC-6F.
  • ₹10 lakh minimum utilisation of foreign contributions over the preceding two FYs applies to the reasonable-activity requirement.
